Sikkim Sundari is a rare plant found at 4,000–4,800 metres in the Himalayas.
Its translucent leaves act like a natural greenhouse, protecting flowers from freezing winds and harsh sunlight.
The plant can grow for up to 30 years, but flowers only once—and then dies.
